Community-led Successes
Tostan’s holistic approach to education has brought about dramatic outcomes in many different areas. The 30-month non-formal education program in human rights, health, hygiene, literacy, numeracy and project management has led to amazing movements for social change. We hope that as information spreads through social networks and our program continues to expand and develop, more communities across Africa will be empowered to make sustainable social change a reality. The transformations outlined below exemplify Tostan’s belief that, with education and the right tools, communities are capable of taking the lead in their own development.
